The Arnison Window

William Campbell Arnison [surgeon] lived in the house which used to be the Hotspur Hotel. He was a great friend of Isaac Holden and together they did much work for the good of the people of the district. Mr Arnison started, and was the treasurer of the Savings Bank [now a beautiful gift shop] He ran a clothing club for the benefit of the poor of the district.

The window ‘William and Mary’ on the south aisle is dedicated to Mr Arnison.
